Luke has been in windsurfing since he was a younger ripper, starting off racing on One Design and sailing the Cornish lake Siblyback where he enticed Colin into the sport earned his coaching stripes alongside him. Luke is qualified up to the hilt within the RYA system, even as a race coach and by the age of 21 was managing a centre. The draw of the waves captured Luke at 19 and he spent many winters travelling to Australia, living in the bush at Coronation Beach and honing his jumping and wave riding skills, which then lead on to pushing himself back home on the lake in freestyle. In 2010 Luke began managing Club Dahab and stayed for 5 years. He is now based permanently in El Medano, enjoying life back in the waves once more, and on hand to coach with Colin during his clinics there!
Marco first started to windsurf on his home lake over 15 years ago, then after just one visit to Dahab in 1999 he decided to make windsurfing his life and his living! He moved out to Dahab and began teaching, working his through the ranks and fast becoming a great freestyler and a sort after instructor. He easily transferred the skills that he learnt on the flat water to the waves during winters in Cape Town. He has also worked some seasons in Greece and Margarita and competed in the PWA and EFPT. Marco now works summers out in Vassiliki and during the off season you’ll find him following the tour interviewing the pros for the JAKLAR movement. Marco will be joining Colin on his clinics in Sardinia and putting all those years experience on flat water to good use.
Lizzie is not only Colin’s PA and Windsurf Coaching’s office manager but she is also a skilled windsurfer and coach herself. Compared with the rest of the team Lizzie is relatively new to the sport, she only started windsurfing in 2010 when she luckily landed herself the dream job in Dahab she quickly progressed and is a dab hand at freestyle, wave sailing and is a great coach.
Lizzie is now based permanently in El Medano and loving getting back on the water after a few years off to have kids. Lizzie will be running the first WindSurf Coaching Water Women clinic in March 2019.
Ben has been a professional/semi professional windsurfer since he left college at 19 years old.
He has been windsurfing for a total of nearly 30 years as he started in 1987 he is still as passionate about windsurfing now as he was when he first started back at Bala Lake in the 80’s!
He has been involved with nearly every discipline in windsurfing from Tiga Aloha U15’s racing (where he place 3rd in the world) to Race board (National champion many times) to a 4 year Mistral One design Olympic Campaign (he made the pre Olympics twice) to Freestyle (National champion) then moving into Wave sailing (British champion many times/highest ranking at PWA event 5th) to Indoor windsurfing (World champion Slalom) so he’s had a lot of experience in a lot of disciplines at the highest level.
Ben is perhaps now best known for his Training Diaries, Windsurfing.tv and PWA commentary, which let’s face it is the real reason we watch the live stream!
Ben spends his winters out in Cape Town and this year for the first year will be teaming up with Colin for a very special clinic that not only will provide top level coaching but also promises to create stars of Windsurfing.tv out of those attend.
